Getting started

Core questions about what Taupia is and what you can manage.

What is Taupia?

Taupia is an AI-powered household bill management app that helps you track and manage your energy, broadband, and mobile bills in one place. It reads your bills, monitors your contracts and renewal dates, and gives you a clear view of your total monthly costs. You can understand your plan, get alerts before prices rise, and switch providers inside the app when it makes sense. Taupia is built for ongoing bill management, not just one-time switching.

What bills can I manage?

You can manage your energy, broadband, and mobile bills in one place. Taupia reads your bills to track your contracts, renewal dates, and monthly costs, giving you a combined view across supported services.

Is there a fee for using Taupia's service?

No. Taupia is currently free to use. In the future, optional premium features may be introduced, but core bill tracking and switching will remain accessible. If you switch providers through the app, Taupia may receive a commission from the provider, which does not affect the options shown.

Switching process

How switching works and what to expect during the transition.

How does Taupia find better deals?

Taupia starts with your actual bill. By reading your current tariff, usage, contract terms, and renewal date, it understands exactly what you are paying today. For energy, Taupia compares your real annual consumption and tariff structure against available UK offers to identify lower-cost or more suitable plans. For broadband, it checks your contract status, speed tier, and monthly cost against available packages in your area. For mobile, it reviews your current plan, data allowance, and contract type to see whether a more cost-effective option is available. Because Taupia already understands your current plan, you do not need to manually re-enter usage details. When a better option becomes relevant, you can review it and switch directly inside the app.

Do I need to contact my current provider?

No. If you choose to switch through Taupia, the new provider manages the transfer process, including notifying your existing provider where required. You can review and approve the switch inside the app without separate calls or paperwork.

How long does switching take?

Switching times depend on the service type. Energy: Most UK switches complete within around 5 working days, and some suppliers can switch in as little as 1 working day. You usually have a 14-day cooling-off period before the transfer completes. Broadband: Broadband switches are often around 10 to 14 working days, depending on provider and connection type. New contracts typically include a 14-day cooling-off period. Mobile: Mobile switching is often completed within 1 working day after transfer confirmation, and most new contracts include a 14-day cancellation window. Taupia tracks these dates and sends reminders throughout the process.

Will switching affect my service?

In most cases, no. Energy supply continues as normal throughout the switch. Broadband usually stays active until the new provider takes over, though a brief interruption can happen on the switch day. Mobile number transfers can involve a short interruption while the port completes. Taupia tracks key dates so you know what to expect.

Do I have to switch?

No. Switching is always optional. Taupia helps you understand and monitor your bills first. If a better option appears, you can review it and decide whether to switch.

Coverage and providers

How broad Taupia's supplier coverage is today.

What providers do you cover for comparing my energy tariff?

Taupia compares tariffs from 19 UK energy providers, including major suppliers and smaller specialists. Based on Taupia's internal network audit from November 2025, this represented around 90% market coverage at the time.

Where is Taupia's bill management available?

Taupia's bill management for mobile, broadband, and energy is available across Great Britain: England, Scotland, and Wales.

Monitoring and after switching

What happens after setup and after you switch.

How does monitoring work?

Once you upload a bill, Taupia reads your tariff, usage, contract terms, and renewal dates. It then tracks key milestones such as contract end dates, relevant market changes, and newly available offers. You do not need to manually re-check the market. Taupia monitors in the background and notifies you when action is worth taking.

Does monitoring continue after switching?

Yes. After a switch through Taupia, monitoring continues automatically. Taupia tracks your new contract, renewal date, and monthly costs so you stay protected over time.
